When the furniture arrives, it has to be perfect. No marks. No scratches. No guesswork about where it goes.
Today, GIA Service ApS completed a white glove delivery and placement service at Vermundsgade 40B, 2100 Copenhagen Ø — one of the most significant creative industry addresses in Scandinavia. The building is home to The Lab, Scandinavia’s premier production house for global fashion and lifestyle brands, along with Daydream Studio, Youshoot Studio, The Set and other creative businesses. It is the address where Vogue shoots, Pandora campaigns, Rains campaigns and Nike productions are made. When furniture arrives at a space like this, the standard expected is not standard at all.
Here is what the job involved:
- 10 premium furniture pieces collected from our secure Albertslund warehouse, where they had been stored for the client for one week
- A marble table weighing approximately 100 kg, delivered with specialist two-person handling and pallet removal
- An 80 kg sofa, unboxed and placed precisely in the client’s designated position
- All items unboxed on site — wooden crating, cardboard packaging and industrial pallets removed completely
- Every piece placed exactly where the client wanted it
- The space left clean — no packaging, no debris, no evidence that a delivery had taken place beyond the furniture itself
This is white glove service. Not delivery to the door. Not “left in the lobby.” Carried to the room, unboxed with care, placed correctly, and every trace of the delivery process removed.
What white glove delivery actually means — and why it matters for premium furniture
The term “white glove” originates in the handling standards used for museum pieces and fine art — the idea that the handler’s touch should leave no trace. In furniture delivery, it has come to mean the premium tier of service where items are not simply transported but treated with the care their value demands.
For a marble table weighing 100 kg, the difference between standard delivery and white glove handling is significant. Marble is dense, heavy and unforgiving — it does not absorb impact, it transmits it. A corner contact during positioning can chip an edge. Sliding rather than lifting can scratch a surface. Two untrained people trying to manoeuvre a marble slab through a doorway without floor protection can damage the item, the floor and themselves in the same moment.
Our white glove team does not improvise. They assess access before lifting. They protect floors. They communicate positioning with the client before placing — not after. And when the piece is in position, it is in the right position.
The full service — storage, delivery and placement in one
This particular job combined three services into one coordinated operation:
1. Storage at our Albertslund warehouse
The furniture was stored securely at our depot for one week prior to delivery. The client was not ready to receive it earlier — a common situation for businesses fitting out new spaces, awaiting renovation completion, or coordinating multiple deliveries. We held everything correctly and delivered on the confirmed date.
2. White glove delivery to Vermundsgade 40B
Items transported from Albertslund to Copenhagen Ø with blanket protection throughout. No item contacted another during transport. No item contacted the van floor without protection.
3. Unboxing, placement and debris removal
Every item unboxed on site. Wooden crating and industrial pallets removed. The space was left ready to use — not ready to be tidied before use.
Who uses white glove delivery in Copenhagen
White glove furniture delivery is not just for residential customers with expensive taste. The majority of our white glove work is for businesses and professionals:
Creative studios and production houses — spaces like those at Vermundsgade 40B that require premium furniture for shoots, client-facing events and permanent installation. When Scandinavian brands invest in their studio environment, the furniture that arrives there should arrive correctly.
Interior designers and design studios — designers who source from HAY, Fritz Hansen, Muuto, Gubi, Carl Hansen, Mater and other premium Danish and Scandinavian brands need a delivery partner who understands that the piece costs more than the average monthly rent. We collect from any Copenhagen showroom or warehouse and deliver with the standard the piece deserves.
International companies and overseas buyers — businesses and individuals purchasing premium Danish furniture from abroad, shipping it to a Copenhagen address or coordinating delivery while they are not in the country. We receive, store and deliver on your behalf. We send photo confirmation of placement so you see the result before you arrive.
Hospitality and hotel procurement — hotels, boutique accommodations and serviced apartments fitting out new rooms or refreshing existing ones. We coordinate delivery around your operational schedule, working in rooms that are temporarily offline, removing all packaging before the room goes back online.
Corporate offices and showrooms — companies investing in their Copenhagen workspace. Reception furniture, boardroom tables, executive seating. Delivered correctly, placed precisely, packaging removed before the office opens for business.
Private residential customers — Copenhagen residents who have purchased significant pieces and want the delivery experience to match the quality of what they have bought. We deliver to any Copenhagen address, carry to the room of your choice, assemble if required, and remove all packaging.
Storage combined with delivery — for when timing does not align
One of the most useful aspects of GIA Service ApS’s white glove service is the ability to receive items at our Albertslund warehouse and hold them until you are ready. This solves a real problem that furniture buyers and businesses face constantly: the item is ready, but the space is not.
Renovation running two weeks late. New office not yet handed over. The previous tenant still in the apartment. The shoot space still under construction. We receive the delivery, store it correctly, and deliver on the date that actually works for you. Storage from DKK 895 per week depending on volume.
